Morena (good morning), this week has been awsome, did you know tama=boy in maori we have been painting and doing maori legends. We drew a picture of a character from a legend. I drew Matakauri a character from” Matau The Giant of Wakatipu”.He was the hero of the story. “I won’t tell you any more I’ll spoil the story”. We also have been doing maori patterns.
Since the 21st of July, it has been Maori Language Week. Room One has started to do cinquain poems about maori legends and then doing a painting
of the legend they wrote about. Renee Ursem’s mother came in and showed us a picture of one of her maraes, showed us a kete, showed us a maori
cloak and showed us a maori skirt that they use for hakas!
